The St. Louis Selects Hockey Club is unique in many ways. The fundamental core values established by the club are the foundation of the club’s success in moving players to the junior and collegiate levels. These values are attractive to our players and families alike and serve as a focal point for our dedicated players and coaching staff.
As a developmental hockey club, we engage in activities leading toward two primary goals:
- Personal development and growth – becoming a better person
- Athletic development – becoming a better hockey player
Our primary focus is on education and personal development, the cornerstones from which the ability to achieve ones goals and aspirations are based upon. We then focus on player development, working with each of our players to teach and refine individual skills, team skills, strategy, dedication, commitment, and leadership.
All players are afforded fair and equivalent opportunities to develop and showcase their skills in each and every aspect of the game (even strength play, power play, penalty kill, shoot-outs).
Our emphasis is on the players, not on winning games, leagues, or championships, so that every player can showcase their talents to coaches and scouts in an effort to help them realize their athletic/academic dreams. Our hope is to enhance each player’s passion for the game of hockey and commitment to the values that will lead them through their life’s journeys.
In every facet of life we are faced with expectations. The St. Louis Selects Hockey Club has expectations of our players, coaches, and families (fans).
