Taken From The Hockey News "The Hot List"

Mike Parks, RW – St. Louis Selects (under-18 AAA): The U.S. doesn’t send the NTDP kids to the Ivan Hlinka, so the tourney is a great chance for others to make a name for themselves. Parks, who recently announced a verbal commitment to the University of North Dakota, is making the most of his spot, tallying three goals in two exhibition games. Draft eligible in 2010.

Sam Warning, LW – St. Louis Selects (under-18 AAA): Coached by the Cavallini brothers, Paul and Gino, Warning and fellow Selects star Mike Parks had great showings at the Ivan Hlinka for the United States. Warning tied for the team lead with four points in four games and will head to Cedar Rapids of the United States League this season. Draft eligible in 2011.

Parks joins ranks of college bound players from St. Louis

St. Louis Selects Hockey Club is proud to announce Michael Parks, a junior at CBC, has accepted a verbal commitment for a full scholarship at the University of North Dakota. Michael, a forward, is the first player from the newly formed club team to commit to a D1 school.

“Michael’s work ethic, drive and team play have paid off with a full ride to one of the premier programs in the country. Michael has excelled at every level he has played and there is no limit to where this game could take him.” Gino Cavallini, Coach/Co Founder, St. Louis Selects HC.

Michael joined the US National Team at the Four Nations Cup last August in Slovakia after having a tremendous camp during the USA Hockey National festival earlier in July.

“It’s no surprise Michael had been receiving the attention of schools wherever we played this fall. He’s a dynamic player that puts you on the edge of your seat every time the puck is on his stick. He’s the type of player that would make any coach look good.” Paul Cavallini, Coach/Co Founder, St. Louis Selects HC.

Second St. Louis Selects player commits to full scholarship

Kyle Sucher, a sophomore at Parkway West, has also recently accepted a verbal commitment to a full scholarship at Bowling Green State University (Ohio).

Kyle, as a bantam, played up with the Blues U16 last year where he showed his maturity as a player and began turning heads with his uncanny poise and shot from the point.

“Kyle was doing things on the point as early as last year that you just can't teach. His sense and awareness on the ice puts him in a different class of player. We would have college and junior coaches come to us after games checking to see if there wasn't a typo in the program. We've had teams following him for over a year.” Paul Cavallini.

“I have had the opportunity to coach Kyle on spring/summer select teams over the past few years as well as coach against him. He’s a solid player at the top of his age group. It comes as no surprise. Having a former NHL All Star work with him on a weekly basis just adds to the package.” Mike McPartlin, Chicago Mission

Kyle brings the number of college commitments to two for the St. Louis Selects HC in their inaugural season.
